Amy L. Foreman, 95, of Manheim, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Born in Lititz, she was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Jason and Emma Groff.
She shared 57 years of marriage with Herbert Foreman until his passing in March 2008.
She had various jobs before settling at Manheim Central School as a cafeteria worker.
Over the years she served on many volunteer committees, including Girl Scout Leader, Penryn Fire Co. Auxiliary, and Meals on Wheels where she served for more than 30 years. She was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, helped prepare funeral meals, and taught vacation bible school.
Amy learned to swim at age 60, an activity she enjoyed for many years. She was an avid gardener, baker, and cook.
She loved to travel with highlights that included cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. One of her most cherished memories was traveling to Shea Stadium to attend the Billy Graham Crusade in 1970, an experience that remained meaningful to her throughout her life.
One of her proudest accomplishments was compiling the Groff Genealogy book in 1990. She continued to update it with hundreds of additions until her passing.
Amy is survived by her son, Craig Foreman and his wife Marleen, of Manheim, and her daughter, Deborah Somes and her husband James, of Florida, her sister Mabel Graham of Manheim and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Amy was preceded in death by brothers, Elvin, Clarence, Aaron, Landis, Roy, Ira, Robert, and Ellis Groff, and sisters Emma Myers and Elma Groff.
