Alice T. Peiffer, 94, of Lititz, formerly of Manheim, reposed in the Lord on January 1, 2026, at Luther Acres in Lititz. A loving wife and mother, she was married to Melvin E. Peiffer for 62 years until his passing in 2014. Born in Manheim, Alice was the daughter of the late James Edward and Mary Alice (Hartley) Taylor.
Alice was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness. She worked as a customer service representative for the former Harris Savings Bank for 21 years before retiring. Her faith and service were central to her life: she was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Lancaster, and a former member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Manheim, where she was an active and dedicated member of the altar guild, choir, and Episcopal Church Women. Alice also volunteered at the Health Campus of Lancaster General Hospital. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, along with gardening, reading, and birdwatching.
Alice is lovingly remembered by her daughters A. Victoria (Donald) Freeseman and Debra L. (Richard) Tenny; her son David A. (Olena) Peiffer; her grandchildren Kelly Dorval, Ryan Tenny, Kyle Tenny, and Mikhail Peiffer; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Miller. She was preceded in death by her brother Geoffrey Taylor.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service for Alice at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 St. Thomas Road, Lancaster PA 17601, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a time of visitation with the family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
