Albert A. "Butch" Hoover, Jr.

East Petersburg

Albert A. “Butch” Hoover, Jr., died on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center.  He was the husband of Janet M. (Ernst) Hoover of East Petersburg.  Born in Lancaster on February 5, 1943 he was the son of the late Albert A. Hoover, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth (Kreider) Hoover.

Butch served in the United States Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  He was a delivery driver and dock worker.  He was a member of the VFW Post 8757 Mountville, the NRA; he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the mountains.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons Craig Hoover and his wife Jennifer of Ephrata, Brian Hoover of East Petersburg, a sister Patricia “Patti” Binkley and her husband Dennis of Millersville and three grandchildren James, Sierra and Dolcy.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 11:00 am until Noon at Zion Lutheran Church, 1905 Broad Street, East Petersburg with The Rev. Pam Illick officiating.  A visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church.  To send the family online condolences, please visit www.buchfuneral.com
