Alan R. Brown

Alan R. Brown, 90, of Manheim, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. He was the husband of Mary E. (Rice, Houck) Brown of Manheim. Born in Fulton Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late William H. Brown, Sr. and the late Myrtle M. (McCrabb) Brown.

Alan worked for Ford New Holland as a Service Parts Group Leader and later for S. Clyde Weaver.

He was a member of the Manheim Lions Club, the Manheim Democratic Committee and attended Manheim Grace Church.

In addition to his wife, Alan is survived by daughters Sonja Froelich and her husband John of Lancaster, Sherri Forrey and her husband George of Manheim; grandsons Jared Forrey and his wife Erica of York, Cameron Forrey of Charlottesville, VA and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughters Joyce Eshleman, Lynn Brown, Gail Bitsko; brothers William H. Brown, Jr., James Brown, Joseph Brown and sisters, Grace Reed, Mary Myers and Jean Bradford.

Alan’s wife, Mary, was the love of his life and he deeply loved his family, especially his grandsons and great-grandchildren, Riley and Beckett.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Choices Palliative and Hospice for their incredibly compassionate care.
