Thelma F. Haddad

Thelma F. Haddad, 82, of Lititz, died peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Moravian Manor, Lititz. Born in Carroll County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Opal Gallimore Ogle. Thelma was the loving wife of Casper G. “Cap” Haddad who died in 1998. She was a proud 1955 graduate of Manheim High School where she played hockey and sang in the choir. Before getting married, Thelma worked in the payroll department for Warner Lambert, Lititz, and during her years of being a homemaker, she worked during tax season for Paul Diehm in Lititz; after her children were older, she was the business manager for the Warwick Township Municipal Authority, from which she retired. In her earlier years Thelma was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim, where she was a member of Luther League, and later attended Lititz United Methodist Church, Lititz, where she taught Sunday school. She has most recently been under the spiritual care of Eric Landram, pastor of Lititz Church of the Brethren.

Thelma enjoyed reading and playing games and served as a Brownie leader for the Girl Scouts. Thelma had a love for traveling, especially to the beach and on trips she took with her husband which included, Puerto Rico and Las Vegas. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family.

Surviving is a daughter, Susan G. Faulkner, of Lititz; four grandchildren, Adam Faulkner, Alex Faulkner, partner of Meg Yoder; Kiersten wife of Matt Hartman; Noah husband of Jen Faulkner; three great grandchildren, Karlie and Chase Hartman and Lillian Faulkner; a sister, Joye Shaffer, of Ephrata; a brother, Vernon Dale Ogle, husband of Sandra LeCalsey, of Manheim; a sister-in-law, Marjory Ogle, of Manheim; a life-long childhood friend, Ella Jane Fahnestock and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death is a son, Joseph H. Haddad, a brother, V. Kermit Ogle, and a sister, M. Laverne Carpenter.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Thelma’s funeral service at Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 West Orange Street, Lititz, on Tuesday May 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Longenecker’s Brethren Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Thelma’s memory to Lititz Church of the Brethren toward the building of The Tree House Playground.
