Sally A. Knauer

January 30, 1949 — February 26, 2019

Sally A. Knauer, 70, of Lititz, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late James F. Sr. and Helen Nentwig Kirkpatrick. Sally was the loving wife of Barry L. Knauer and they observed their 37th wedding anniversary in December of last year. Sally retired from Moravian Manor where she worked for many years; previously, she was employed at Masonic Retirement Community in Elizabethtown and in her early days worked at Donegal Industries in Mount Joy. She was a 1968 graduate of Donegal High School. Sally attended LCBC Manheim Campus. She was a member of the Lititz American Legion Post 56, and the Lititz VFW Post 1463. Sally enjoyed growing flowers, listening to music from many generations and watching movies. She loved taking care of her Dachshunds, named M.J. and Ginger.

Surviving in addition to her husband Barry, is a son, Don A. husband of Kori Garber of Marietta, a granddaughter, Hannah Garber, and a brother, Gerry husband of Fay Kirkpatrick of Columbia. Preceding her in death are two brothers: Jimmy and Bill Kirkpatrick.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sally’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 7:30 PM. There will be a viewing on Thursday evening from 6:30 PM till the time of the service. Interment will be private in Old Zion Cemetery, Lititz. Please omit flowers. Those desiring may send contributions in Sally’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
