Roger E. Cunningham

September 22, 1957 — August 8, 2015

If you are reading this then it is true, I have already gone home to be with my Heavenly Father. The cancer may have ravaged my body but not my Soul. I fought the fight, I ran the race and I crossed the final finish line.

I was born to Margaret A. (Hoffmeier) and Joseph V. Cunningham on Sunday, September 22, 1957 at 2:56pm, the 265th day of the year. (Those of you that know me know that I am a “numbers guy”).
I leave behind my loving wife and soulmate, Rosemary. She was my angel sent from Heaven to see me through the good times and the bad. I learned too late to appreciate the simple things in life and the incredible pleasures they can bring. She taught me how to be a better person; her faith and encouragement was a blessing. Together with her children, Nicola, Trevor and Heath and their families, they created a safe and loving environment for my final journey. We may have lost the battle but we ultimately won the war with dignity, love and compassion.

I join my parents, my niece Shelly and my sisters-in-law, Gloria and Carlene who have all gone before me to the loving arms of our savior, Jesus Christ. I am survived by my son, Jeremy Michael and my daughter, Kaitlin Schaller as well as my brothers Jerry and William and my sister Margie, married to Bobby White. I also leave behind my nephews, Jerry Jr., Todd, Troy, Joe, John and my niece Angela and my devoted cat Lucky.

If it were possible to have a “do-over” I would do many, but since I can’t I’ll leave you with one last thought. “Dream as though you have nothing to lose, believe as though anything is possible, love as though your heart knows no bounds and live as though there is only today." In my name please pay it forward, be kind to one another and shorten your to-do list.

P.S. Please join us in Celebrating Roger’s life. We will be gathering to share our memories on September 25th 2015 at 6:00pm at the Lakefield Barn, 429 Hossler Road, Manheim, PA.
