Robert B. "Bob" Zug, 83, of Manheim, died peacefully on Sunday July 8, 2012 at Lancashire Hall, Lancaster. Born in Sporting Hill, he was the son of the late Hershey and Elsie Buch Zug. Bob retired in 1994 after working as a machinist at the Fuller Company, Manheim. He was the loving husband of Jean Diehl Zug and they would have observed their 53 rd wedding anniversary in August of this year. Bob was a member of the East Fairview Church of the Brethren, Manheim, where he served on the property committee. He enjoyed playing ice hockey and fastpitch softball in his younger years. Bob was an avid woodworker, and expert craftsman making furniture, cabinets, and providing wood detailing that was evident throughout his home. He enjoyed being outside to tend to his fruit trees and orchard. Bob was recognized everywhere by his 1959 white Oldsmobile convertible. Bob's greatest joy in life was his family; he always enjoyed attending his son's baseball games and daughter's activities. Surviving in addition to his wife; is a daughter Deborah Z. wife of Dr. David Rosenfeld of Drumore, a son Darrell R. Zug of Lancaster, a granddaughter, Emily Rosenfeld, and a sister, Helen Connelly of Lancaster County. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at the East Fairview Church of the Brethren 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
