The Reverend Richard C. “Dick” Wenger, 89, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2015 at Brethren Village. Born in Mount Zion, Lebanon County, he was the son of the late Levi and Emma (Brown) Wenger. Formerly of Lorida, FL, he was the husband of Marjorie (Brower) Wenger and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on June 29th.

Following his graduation in 1944 from Lititz High School, Dick graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1948 and Bethany Theological Seminary in 1950.

Dick found great enjoyment in his career as a pastor for numerous congregations throughout the country prior to his retirement in 1988. A member of the Lititz Church of the Brethren, he followed his calling to serve others through his work in the mission field and as an English teacher in China for a year.

A gifted handyman, Dick enjoyed crafts and was always willing to help others with projects. He was an avid fisherman and had many unique fishing opportunities while on his travels around the world.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Richard Wenger, husband of Rebecca, Delta Junction, AK; daughters, Cynthia, wife of Barry Saylor, Houston, TX; Joanne, wife of Thomas Sheriff, Katy, TX; two grandchildren and a sister, Ethel Kerscher of Willow Valley. He is preceded in death by 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
