Paul E. Michael

Paul E. Michael, 78, of Brownstown, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late, Raymond and Mary Light Michael. For over 35 years Paul worked for Wilbur Chocolate Factory in Lititz. He was the loving husband of Evelyn Landis Leisey Michael and they observed their 22nd wedding anniversary in November of last year. His first wife was the late Shelby Groff Michael who died in June of 1993. Paul was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim, and attended Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ephrata. He enjoyed golfing, camping, traveling to Rehoboth and Myrtle Beaches and rooting for his favorite teams the Phillies and Eagles. Paul loved competing on the Senior Bowling League at the Dutch Lanes, Ephrata.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Evelyn, is a son, Doug husband of Danelle Michael of Lititz, two daughters, Jodi wife of Donald Gantz and Leslie wife of Fred Raffensperger all of Manheim, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a step daughter, Donna wife of David Hebert of Harrisburg, NC, a step son, Bruce husband of Beverly Leisey of Stevens, five step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, a brother, Richard husband of Sue Michael of Texas, and a sister Joan Hess of Ephrata. Preceding him in death is a brother, Raymond Michael Jr.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Paul’s funeral service at Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Tuesday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and also at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery.
