Mary Ellen Heisey

Mary Ellen Heisey, 87, formerly of Manheim passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elsie Mae Espenshade Haines. She was the wife of the late Martin N. Heisey who died in 2006. Mary Ellen was a member of Elizabethtown United Zion Church where she helped with the kitchen committee. Her interests included gardening, canning, cooking, crocheting, making homemade candies and she loved to spend time with her family.

Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Karen Heisey of Manheim, five grandchildren: Stephanie wife of Tony Barnhart, Tara wife of Chris Showalter, Renee wife of Mikael Kristiansen, Jenna wife of Michael Logan and Jordan Heisey, 10 great grandchildren and a brother, Robert husband of Janice Haines of Stone Harbor, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by a son, Jay M. Heisey, a great granddaughter and sister, Alma Miller Diggan.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery, Londonderry Township. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Mary Ellen’s memory to the United Zion Retirement Community, Caring Fund, 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
