Mary E. Kestner Yerger, 104, formerly of Reading, died Tuesday November 2, 2010 at Masonic Village Health Care Center, Elizabethtown, where she was a resident. She was the wife of Luther Wayne Yerger of Elizabethtown and the late Joseph T. Kestner. Born in Reading she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary (Heimbach) Zimmerman. Mary retired has a sales manager for Feel Fine Shops of Reading. Mary was a member of the First Reformed Church of Reading and the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.
Surviving in addition to her husband Luther is a daughter Joan Kestner Rotheram wife of Edward of Pittsburgh, PA, son in law William McHale and his wife Barbara, four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Anne Kestner McHale, two brothers Stanley and Elmer Zimmerman, four sisters, Mabel Shoemaker, Carrie Warmkessel, Jenny White and Pearl Zeller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service from the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA, on Saturday November 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Gary George officiating. Internment in Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading will be private.
There will be a time of visitation with the family on Saturday morning at Sell Chapel from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Heilig Funeral Home, Mount Joy PA is in charge of arrangements.
