Mary B. Greiner

Mary B. Greiner, 82, of Manheim, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Amy Gingrich Becker, and the step daughter to the late Esther Becker. Mary was the loving wife of Clyde G. Greiner and they observed their 53rd wedding anniversary in November of last year. During the past 40 years Mary helped make the best sticky buns for Mary Jane’s Bake Shop located at Roots Country Market and Auction in Manheim. In her early years she was employed in the office for the former Noggles Garment Factory, Manheim. Throughout her life Mary worked along- side her husband, and son assisting them on the family farm in Rapho Township. She was an active and faithful member of the East Fairview Church of the Brethren, Manheim, where she helped with many church suppers and funeral meals. Mary enjoyed many family gatherings at the home of Nevin and Bonni Greiner. Her interests included: watching birds in her back yard, cats and kittens of all sizes and ages, vegetable gardening, canning, and spending time with her family at the cabin in Potter County. The joy of her life were her children and granddaughter, who loved her dearly.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are two daughters: Wanda M. wife of Jeff Thompson of Lititz, Sharon K. wife of Mitch Hart of Lancaster, a son, John M. Greiner of Manheim, a granddaughter, Lauren Thompson, and a step sister, Joanne wife of Carl Stauffer of Manheim. Preceding her in death is a step brother, Clete Gibble.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the East Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Mary’s memory to Brethren Disaster Relief Auction, 300 East Market Street, Hallam, PA 17406.
