Josephine B. "Josie" Lewis

April 16, 1948 — February 28, 2016

As her loved ones joined hands and surrounded her bedside, Josephine B “Josie” Lewis, 67, of Manheim was welcomed into the healing and loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Bernice Brubaker Lausch. Josie graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1967. She held many positions at the former Susquehanna Bank, Manheim, where customers were greeted daily by her warm smile and willingness to help. Josie loved to watch the birds outside her windows and enjoyed the beauty of colorful flowers. She attended Victory Church where she was known for her kind heart and ability to make others feel loved and welcomed. One of the highlights of her later years was a two week trip to India where she shined God’s light into the lives of young girls. You didn’t have to know Josie long to understand that her deepest passion was her family; she was a sideline fixture at every sporting event and milestone in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. Her email said it best- “Gammie4Life.”
Surviving are two daughters, Michelle wife of Tom Stone, Angie wife of Justin Barbush both of Manheim, six grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Hannah, Maddy, Olivia, Brett and four siblings, Geraldine “Gerry” wife of Jay Kenneth Geib of Manheim, Jacqueline “Jackie” wife of Carlton Walls III of Lititz, Ralph “Ted” husband of Sherrill Lausch and Suzanne “Suzie” Lausch both of Lancaster.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Josie’s Celebration of Life at Manheim Brethren In Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
