Joanne M. Lightner

Joanne M. Graybill Johnson Lightner, 76, formerly of Manheim, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in York.

Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Myles B. and Elizabeth R. Baker Graybill. Joanne worked over 33 years for the Pennsylvania Employment Service in York. She was formerly married to Charles T. Johnson and was the wife of the late Paul W. Lightner. Joanne was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, South George Street, York where she volunteered many hours for the church, and in the offices for the Visiting Nurses Association of York. She was a graduate of Manheim Central High School. Her interests included classical music, playing the piano, and traveling. Surviving are two daughters, Kristine M. Johnson of Virginia, Sheryl E. Johnson of Pennsylvania, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 7:30 PM with Pastor Marie K. Krueger officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening, from 6:30 PM until the time of the service.
