Jeannette S. Arment

August 23, 1937 — January 31, 2019

Jeannette S. Arment, 81, of Lancaster, died peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Lowell and Mary Spickler Ecker. Jeannette was raised on a farm in East Petersburg and graduated from Manheim Township, Class of 1955. Jeannette retired in June, 2017 from the Endoscopy Unit as a Sterilization Technician at Lancaster General Hospital after 27 years of service; previously, she was employed at Dutch Haven Restaurant in the bake shop, and worked for Samco Manufacturing in Lancaster. She was an active and faithful member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Lancaster; where she volunteered in the Care & Share Program. Jeannette was a member of several knitting clubs in the Lancaster area. Throughout her life she knitted caps that were given to area hospitals for newborn babies. She was also a member of the Lancaster County Bird Club. She enjoyed visiting and collecting Lighthouses. Jeannette enjoyed vacations with her family, including camping and the beach. She had a true passion for photography, taking photos of nature, and her grandchildren’s activities. She adored and cherished her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters: Donna Arment wife of Ed Boucher of Durango CO, Cindy wife of Phil Biechler of Millersville, Sylvia wife of Richard Drennen III of Paradise, a son, Ray husband of Lisa Arment of Mohnton, four grandchildren: Sarah wife of Andrew Alberico, Jared husband of Emily Drennen, Emily Biechler, A.J. Fairchild, and a brother, David husband of Dutch Ecker of East Petersburg.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Jeannette’s memory may be sent to Rock Ford Plantation, 881 Rockford Road, Lancaster, PA 17602 or to a charity of your choice.
