Irvin C. Enck

June 12, 1957 — August 9, 2014

Irvin C. Enck, 57, of Lititz, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Troy Community Hospital, Bradford County, PA. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Reba E. Kreider Enck of Ephrata and the late Carl R. Enck. Irvin was the loving husband of Joyce B. Stauffer Enck and they would have observed their 35th wedding anniversary on August 25th. For the past 18 years Irvin was the Director of Building and Maintenance for Friendship Community, Lititz; previously he was a partner with Reynold Zimmerman in the former EZ Homebuilders Inc., Ephrata, a local home construction company. A master carpenter and craftsman, Irvin designed and built his family’s home in Lititz with an artist’s attention to detail and design. He had a talent for fixing any home repair problem with ease. Irvin was a member of Village Chapel Mennonite Church, Voganville, where he served as a building trustee, and led the church through extensive renovations. He also served on the Building and Grounds Committee for Black Rock Retreat. Recently Irvin attended LCBC Church, Ephrata Campus. He attended Warwick High School, Lititz. In his younger years Irvin played bass guitar for several contemporary Christian rock groups. Irvin’s passion was the outdoors and he enjoyed spending time at the family’s mountain property in Lycoming County, where he loved bow hunting for white-tail deer.

Surviving in addition to his mother, and wife, is a daughter, Tanya Lynn wife of Kenny McCardell of Lancaster, a son, Tyler Lee Enck of Lititz, a step grandson, Brennan McCardell, a brother, Charles R. husband of Vicky Enck of Lititz, and three sisters: Terri wife of Linford Good of Sunbury, Elaine wife of Tony Mathias of Lititz, and Carol wife of Jack Roach of Manheim.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Irvin’s Memorial Celebration at Dove Westgate Church, 1755 West Main Street, Ephrata, on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 4:30 PM. The family will receive friends at Dove Westgate Church on Sunday afternoon from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Attire is casual and if you wish, you may celebrate Irvin’s love of the outdoors by wearing hunting gear or other outdoor clothing.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Friendship Community, checks payable to Friendship Ministries, 1149 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543-8366.
