Frances Little Greenawalt

Frances Little Greenawalt, 97, formerly of Mount Joy, passed away on Friday September 14, 2012 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Elizabeth Bowers Runk Dillinger. She was the wife of the late Harold H. Greenawalt, who died in 1993, and her first husband, the late Paul D. Little, who died in 1975. Fran worked for 25 years for the late Dr. John H. Stauffer, Optometrist, in Mount Joy and Millersville. When she was young, she worked as a laboratory technician at the Lancaster General Hospital and in the personnel department for the former Armstrong Cork Company in Lancaster. Fran was a 1932 graduate of the former Mount Joy High School. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Joy, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was Superintendent of the Nursery Department for many years. She was a former Secretary/Treasurer for the Ladies Group Circle 1 and served as the correspondent to the shut-ins of the church. She was a member of the Mount Joy Business & Professional Women, and served on the Election Board in Mount Joy for a number of years. Fran enjoyed traveling, spending time with her daughters and their families, playing pinochle and bridge, doing crafts, and making fleece blankets. Fran's family loved her dearly and will treasure their memories of her. She will be lovingly missed by her daughters, Vicki L. wife of Ronald R. Aument of Columbia, Joan L. wife of James H. Moss of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Shane and Chad Stehman, Allison and Christopher Moss; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother John W. Dillinger and a sister Lena D. Eshelman. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 47 W. Main St. Mount Joy, PA on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be in Mount Joy Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Wednesday at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
