Ethel M. Brandt

Ethel M. Brandt, 86, of Wisegarver Road Manheim, entered her eternal rest on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 6:40 PM at her home surrounded by her family. She had been under a physicians care for two years.

Born in Brownstown, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Annie Weitzel Weaver. Ethel was married for 44 years to Harry K. Brandt who died in 1992. Together they raised four children; three sons: Elvin R. husband of Lorraine Dombach Brandt of Lititz, M. David Brandt and E. Daniel Brandt both of Greentown, PA., a daughter, Evelyn M. wife of Kenneth A. Bucher of Manheim, fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-two great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Clifford C. husband of Margaret Weaver of New Holland, and Kenneth L. husband of Mary Ann Weaver of Manheim. Preceding her in death are three sisters: Marguerite B. Mumma, Lillian M. LeFever, Treva L. Good, and one brother, Irvin R. Weaver Jr.

Ethel was a member of Manheim Mennonite Church and was active in the sewing circle. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, table games, visiting with family and friends. Ethel enjoyed singing with her sisters in her youth. In addition to farming with her husband, Ethel had worked as a nurses aide at the former Mt. Hope Dunkard Brethren Church Home Manheim, before she retired.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service from the Manheim Mennonite Church 201 West High Street, Manheim, on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Joseph Stahl and Pastor David Martin officiating. Interment is in Erisman Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing at the church, on Wednesday morning, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
