Elsie E. Carpenter

Elsie E. Carpenter, 79, of Lititz, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Hospice and Community Care, Lancaster. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Jay Russell and Edna Haldeman Brubaker. She was the wife of the late Russel C. Carpenter who died in August of 2005. A homemaker most of her life, Elsie was last employed by Sechan Electronics Lititz. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz. Her interests included: love of cats, reading and attending card club activities with her friends. Elsie had a life- long passion for her family and she loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving are two daughters: Karen Coen of Lititz, Kathy wife of Joseph J. Martin of Lancaster, a son, Douglas Carpenter of Lititz, five grandchildren: Michael husband of Debra Coen, Kelly wife of Fred Shelton, Derek Coen, Tony Martin, Amanda Martin, and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are two sisters: Betty Angstadt, Vera M. Shue. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
