Dr. Norman Charles (Charlie) MacMath, 90, of Elizabethtown, formerly of the Mayfair section in Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Masonic Village Health Care Center in Elizabethtown, PA. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George and Elsie Voellm MacMath. He was the husband of Elona A. Farr MacMath and they celebrated 67 years of marriage in June of last year. Dr. N. C. MacMath, a Podiatrist, had his practice in Mayfair. A graduate of Temple Podiatry School, he was one of six co-founders of the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during WW II. Charlie was a member of the Tacony Lodge #600 F&AM and Odd Fellows. He was a former member of the Disston Memorial Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia for over fifty years. He and his wife are members of the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel in the Masonic Village. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Wayne C. husband of Maureen MacMath of Mayfair, Robert C. husband of Debby MacMath of Croydon and five grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel, Robert Jr., Stacey and Kelly. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at the Masonic Village, John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Inurnment in Masonic Village Memorial Garden. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel on Saturday from 1:30 PM until the time of service.
