Dorothy Yvonne Halk

Dorothy Yvonne Halk, 93, of Elizabethtown, died Friday January 17, 2014 at the Masonic Health Care Center, Elizabethtown after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Bruce W. Halk who died in 2009. Born in Middletown she was the daughter of the late Charles Gilbert King, Sr. and the late Lillian (Dohner) King. She was a graduate of Middletown High School class of 1938. Dorothy was a former Justice of the Peace in Mt. Joy Twp. for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Elizabethtown, and its Women’s Missionary Society. Dorothy enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, sewing, and cooking.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen M. wife of William D. Crider, and Susan L. wife of Michael N. Scanlon, both of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother Wilbert husband of “Jo” King of Middletown; and a sister Jane Hoffman of Elizabethtown.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her graveside services at 12 noon, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabethtown. There will be no public viewing.
