David M. Zimmerman

David M. “Pop” Zimmerman, 94, of Manheim passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, April 20, 2015. Born in Manheim Township, he was the son of the late Graybill H. and Mary Martin Zimmerman. He was the husband of the late Grace A. Heistand Zimmerman who died in 2006. David retired from the former Raybestos-Manhattan Inc., Manheim. Earlier in life, he enjoyed farming at Lester Greiner Farms, Manheim and he was a self-employed carpenter/painter for many years in the Manheim area. David was a member of Manheim Mennonite Church and the Manheim Historical Society. He enjoyed collecting trucks and loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are five children, Janet A. Zimmerman of Manheim, D. Pauline Zimmerman of Lancaster, David K. husband of Ruth D. Lighty Zimmerman of Lititz, Wilbur L. husband of Judith A. Sachs Zimmerman of Ephrata, Vivian wife of Jeffrey L. Kessler of Manheim, ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Manheim Mennonite Church, 201 West High Street, Manheim on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Interment in Risser’s Mennonite Cemetery, Mount Joy Township. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Thursday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and again at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
