Darlene Ruth, 83, formerly of East Petersburg, went into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Brethren Village, Lancaster. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Florence Carpenter Nauman. Darlene graduated from Mount Joy High School and Hollywood Beauty School in 1946. For over 17 years Darlene worked for Datcon Instrument Company in East Petersburg; previously she was employed as a beautician for the former Cleo Eberle's Beauty Shop, Mount Joy. She was the wife of the late George E. Ruth who died in 1971. Darlene was a member of Grace Church of Lititz for over 32 years and was a member of the Lamp Lighters Sunday school class. Other memberships were the Mount Joy Leisure Club and the Park City Twalkers. Darlene's interests included: crocheting, knitting, baking, gospel music and traveling to the Maryland shore and visiting Ocean City. She had a life-long passion for her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn wife of Bob Woerner of Strasburg, Diane E. wife of Steve Kline of Manheim, a son, Gary L. husband of Mary Lou Kreider Ruth of East Petersburg, 6 grandchildren: Jesse, Mandy wife of Justin Hess, Christi, Kelsey, Corey, Sara, 3 great grandchildren: Tyler, Marissa, Mallory, a brother, Kenneth husband of Suzanne Nauman of Ephrata, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Nauman of Bainbridge. Preceding her in death is a son, Dennis Lee Ruth, a brother, Irvin "Bud" Nauman and a sister, Marian F. Keith. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Asera Care Hospice and Brethren Village for their warm and loving care. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Brethren Village Chapel 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Henry Eberle Cemetery, corner of Marietta Ave. and Lumber St. Mount Joy on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the Brethren Village Chapel on Wednesday morning from 9:15 AM until the time of the service.
