Daniel C. Durborow

Daniel C Durborow, 73, of East Petersburg, entered into rest at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, on Monday, November 1, 2010. Born September 24, 1937, he was the son of the late Florita Trainor Durborow and Charles Lefever. He was married to Ruth Sauder Durborow. Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Thelma Reddick of Peach Bottom and numerous nieces and nephews. Four brothers, John and Joseph Trainor, James and Richard Durborow, and a sister, Betty Shindel, preceded him in death.
Dan was a member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church. He and his wife served two years, 2002-2004, in Guatemala through Eastern Mennonite Missions at the Latin American Anabaptist Seminary and CASAS language school for North American college students. Dan graduated from Lancaster Mennonite School in 1955 and got into the car business in 1962, continuing until his retirement in August of 2010.Dan was a member of the Susquehanna Sports Car Club, Lebanon Valley Sports and Touring Club and participated in many rallies and gymkhanas. He was a ten-year member of the Board of Directors of PA Independent Auto Dealers Association.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Service at the East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Please omit flowers; those desiring may send contributions in Daniels memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125. In keeping with Dans wishes, his body was donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry, Philadelphia for medical research.
