Clair C. "Mep" Carl

Clair C. "Mep" Carl, 72, of Manheim, died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Muir, he was the son of the late Melvin E. and Edith Finley Carl. Clair was the loving husband of Eleanor Jean Kimmel Carl and they observed their 50th wedding anniversary in October of last year. For over 33 years Clair worked for the former Raymark Industries Manheim. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim; and a 1958 graduate of Porter- Tower High School. Clair enjoyed fishing, and traveling to the family cabin affectionately called "Camp Bear Claw" located in Tioga County. He looked forward to going to breakfast with his friends and spending the Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays with his family. Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son, Bruce A. husband of Sherri Carl of Akron, a daughter, Kathleen A. wife of James E. Geibe of Lancaster, six grandchildren: Christopher A. Carl, Brian Zumpf, Shannon R. Risner, Kendra L. Risner, Bridgette L. Geibe, Lauren E. Geibe, and two great grandchildren: Logan and Hailie Gill. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Clair's memory to American Heart Association 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603 or the American Lung Association 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
