Christian H. "Christ" High

Christian H. “Christ” High, 82, of Manheim, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late, John S. and Amanda Horting High. Christ was the husband of the late Edna E. Ober High who died in April of 2004. He worked for Anderson Pretzel Bakery of Lancaster for over 27 years and helped on the family farm. Christ was a member of Mount Hope Mennonite Church, Manheim.

Surviving are five sons: Mark High, Roy husband of Cora Sensenig High, John High, Richard High, Elmer High all of Manheim, a daughter, Janet wife of Luke Bange of Corydin, IA, eight grandchildren, three brothers: Melvin husband of Anna High of Donna, TX, Luke husband of Mary High of Myerstown, Jacob husband of Arlene High of Mifflintown, two sisters, Lydia Martin and Mary Parbel both of Myerstown. Preceding him in death, is a son, Harold High, four brothers: Paul, Ivan, John David, Henry High, and two sisters: Anna May Wenger and Emma Gonzalez.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Hernley Mennonite Church, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim, on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the Hernley Mennonite Church on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM with additional viewing on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
