Charlotte M. Eshleman

November 19, 1921 — February 10, 2011

Charlotte M. Eshleman, 89, formerly of Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Elizabethtown.

Born in Colmar, France, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Mann Yecker. Charlotte worked for twenty-five years for J. L. Clark, Lancaster. She was the wife of the late J. Leonard Eshleman who died in 1979. Charlotte was a member of Jehovahs Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Fruitville Pike, Lititz. She was also a life member of the Manheim Historical Society and a former member of the Manheim VFW Post 5956 Auxiliary. An avid reader, she enjoyed bird watching while spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens. Her greatest passion was raising her family. She showed great strength in the face of tragedy and her capacity to love despite indifference and anger never waivered. She held faith that things would always work out for the greatest good.

Surviving are three daughters, Jacqueline, wife of Henry Zimmerman, of Punta Gorda, FL, Jane Smith, of Mountville, and Loretta, wife of William Mengel, of Port Clinton, PA; three sons, Joseph, husband of Barbara Eshleman, of Irvin, TX, Kevin Eshleman, of Manheim, and Nathan Eshleman, of Elizabethtown; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Conahan, three sons, George, Adam, and Thomas Eshleman, two sisters, Nancy Fasolino and Mary Ann Kiehl, and a brother, Charles Yecker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 6:00 PM with Mr. Rodney Musser officiating. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
