Carol L. Porta

Carol L. Porta, 72, of Manheim passed away at home on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Born in Lexington, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary George Taubman. She was the wife of Merton E. Porta and they would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in August. Carol and her husband owned and operated Hilltop General Truck Service, Manheim. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim. Carol enjoyed cooking and watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. She loved to spend time with her family; especially her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Paul Anthony husband of Emily Wolfgeher of Oklahoma City, James P. Porta of Suwanee, Georgia, a daughter, Sharon wife of Shannon Winfindale of Manheim, three stepchildren, Michael husband of Penny Porta of Manheim, Timothy husband of Jodi Porta of New Holland and Catherine wife of Willis Nolt of Rehersburg, six grandchildren, Corey, Brandon, Ryan, Zachary, Megan and Devon.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Richard Catholic Church, 110 North Oak Street, Manheim on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Father Francis T. Menei as Celebrant. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a public viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Please omit flowers.
