Arlene P. Stormfeltz

January 12, 1924 — February 5, 2011

Arlene P. Stormfeltz, 87, formerly of 512 Rambler Road, Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim.

Born in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late J. Earl and June Fanton Plank. From 1945 to 1988 Arlene was employed as an Art Education Teacher with the Manheim Central School District where she taught in all grade levels in the district. She was the loving wife of Robert W. Stormfeltz and they observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in April of last year. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Arlene was a 1945 graduate of Kutztown State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education. Her memberships included: Manheim Historical Society, Alburgh Historical Society, Manheim Womens Club and the Red Hat Society. Arlene volunteered for: Meals on Wheels for the Manheim area, Nearly-Nu Thrift Shop, Manheim, and hand crafted and designed costumes for the former Manheim Little Theater. Her interests included: traveling to the family cabin in South Alburgh, Vermont; fishing on Lake Champlain, refinishing furniture, and playing Hasenpfeffer card games.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Carol Ann wife of William G. Price Jr. of Bonita Springs, FL., a son, Daniel P Stormfeltz fianc of Arlene Shaffer of Lititz, four grandchildren who lovingly called her Mamie: Matthew husband of Molly Price, Jennifer Price fiance of Ted Parsons, Nathan Stormfeltz, Emily Stormfeltz, and a great grandson, William Nathan Price. Preceding her in death is a sister, Ruth Plank, and a brother, Sterling Plank. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service in the Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM. with Pastor James W. Roth officiating. Interment is in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. There will be a viewing in the Hoffer Auditorium on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
