Allan Wayne Hess

Allan Wayne Hess, 59, formerly of Manheim, died at his home in Lancaster on Monday, January 7, 2013.Born in York, he was the son of the late Wayne A. and Arlene Eshleman Hess and the step son of the late Edith Mae Ruhl Nissley Hess. Allan enjoyed working in construction, helping to rehabilitate homes in Lancaster City. Throughout his adult life he often expressed gratitude for the help he received from Water Street Ministries. He had a passion for reading and enjoyed going to the Lancaster County Library where he spent many hours. Allan loved to go hunting in his youth and loved the outdoors. Surviving is a brother, Randy L. husband of Karen Hess of Newton, NC, three step sisters: Donna M. wife of Marlin R. Hosler of Manheim, Suzanne N. wife of James S. Brubaker of Palmyra, Debra J. wife of Michael C. Martin of Hallam, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 5:30 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Byerland Mennonite Cemetery, Pequea Township. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 4:30 PM until the time of the service.
