Alice Edith Rasmussen

August 1, 1942 — March 3, 2017

Alice Edith Rasmussen, 74, of Lititz, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, Friday March 3, 2017. Alice was born on August 1, 1942 in Home Township, Edmore, MI and was the daughter of the late Alfred Sr. and Audrey Courser Rasmussen. Alice grew up in the Edmore Area graduating from Edmore High School in 1960. She went on to graduate from the School of Bible and Music in Grand Rapids, MI in 1962.

After graduation, Alice worked in two summer Bible Camps in Pennsylvania and quickly felt led to join the children’s ministry of Bible Centered Ministries International as a full-time missionary in September 1963. Her first assignment was leading Release Time classes, Bible Clubs and Pre-School Clubs in the Cortland NY area. She also worked on staff at the Cortland Bible Club Camp during those years. In September 1968, she was appointed co-director of the Niagara Bible Club Camp in Niagara County NY where she served faithfully until 1992. Alice then moved to the home offices of BCM in Upper Darby PA and their move to Lancaster County brought her to the Akron PA area where she lived until moving to Lititz PA in 2012. During her years in BCM’s International Ministry Center she served first as both Prayer Secretary and Bible Club Secretary and later was appointed the Member Care Prayer Coordinator in 2005. In 2014, she joined the Prayer/Care Team and served in that role until her retirement in September 2016 after 53 faithful years of ministry to children and BCM’s missionary family around the world.

Alice is survived by two brothers Alfred Rasmussen Jr. (Suzan) of St. Louis, MI; Allen Rasmussen (Lil) of Edmore, MI; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Alouise Fuller, brother in-law Adrian Fuller, two nieces, a great nephew and several cousins.
