Abram L. "Abie" Miller

December 31, 1937 — May 18, 2010

Abram L. Abie Miller, 72, of Manheim, died peacefully and went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Abram and Emma E. Landis Miller. Abie worked for Wengers Feed Mill Incorporated in Rheems for over twenty years; previously he was employed for New Holland North America, and the former Agway Mill of Manheim. He was the husband of the late Elsie Shearer Miller who died in 2003; and his first wife the late Esther Peters Miller who died in 1997. He was a member of the Manheim Mennonite Church. Abie volunteered many hours for Brethren Village Lancaster, for the Mennonite Central Committee, and at the health campus for the Lancaster General Hospital. His interests included: hunting, observing wild life, reading and working in his yard. He had a passion for traveling; and throughout his life he traveled to all fifty states of the nation, and most of the provinces of Canada.

Surviving is a daughter, Joyce E. wife of Kirk D. Shenberger of Spring Hill Acres, Lebanon County, two brothers: Landis L. husband of Vera Miller of Manheim, James L. husband of Grace Miller of New Oxford, and a sister, Lois wife of Menno Rissler of Latham, MO. Preceding him in death is a son, Glenn E. Miller and a brother, Lester Miller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service from the Manheim Mennonite Church 201 West High Street, Manheim, on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in East Fairview Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township. Friends may visit with the family at the Manheim Mennonite Church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
