Ruth E. Bires, 73, of Lititz, died peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Wrightsville, she was the daughter of the late Harry C. and Emma Clinton Keller. A homemaker, she was the loving wife of John R. "Ron" Bires and they observed their 56th wedding anniversary in September of this year. Her interests included: reading, cooking, walking, hiking and spending time with her "Pug" dogs. Ruth had a life-long passion for her family; she enjoyed family activities with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband, is a daughter, Sharon Kaye wife of Robin Fears of Lancaster, three sons: Michael J. husband of Holly Mearig Bires of Manheim, Allan R. husband of Nancy Leed Bires of Ephrata, Ronald E. husband of Jackie Burkhart Bires of Lititz, ten grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, two brothers: John husband of Gladys Keller of Bedford, Robert Keller of Carlisle, and a sister, Harriet wife of William Varner of Shippensburg. Preceding her in death is a sister, Donna Rae Dewalt. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her graveside services at the Hernley Mennonite Cemetery 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 1:00 PM.
