Robert W. Bentzel

Robert W. "Bob" Bentzel, 88, of Landisville, died Saturday December 24, 2011, after a brief illness, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Miriam (Greider) Bentzel who died in 1997. Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Warren H. and Elsie E. (Wertz) Bentzel. Bob was a former employee of the Hamilton Watch Company of Lancaster, retiring in 1985. He was a graduate of Mount Joy High School, class of 1941, and attended West Chester State College for one year. Bob proudly served with 2622nd Army Air Force Base Unit during WW II. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Mount Joy, and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are two sons, Dennis R. husband of Dawn Bentzel of Landisville, Bradford L. husband of Florence Bentzel of Cinnaminson, NJ; four granddaughters; a great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
