Rhoda S. Kunkel, 76, of Manheim passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Titus and Edna Sauder Martin. Rhoda retired as an accountant for The Horst Group, Inc., Lancaster. She was a member of Landisville Mennonite Church. She enjoyed time with her family, grandchildren, friends, Share Group, and Sunday school class. Her other interests included cooking, flower gardening, and neighborhood walks.
Surviving is a daughter, Kristina wife of Tim Wilson of Manheim, four grandchildren; Tyler, Logan, Annika, and Zariah, and three siblings: Ben husband of Mary Steffy, Phebe wife of Don Good, Esther wife of Charles Lefever and two sisters-in-law: Peggy Redcay Martin and Betsy Weber Martin Brackbill, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings: Mark and Isaac Martin, Elizabeth “Betty” Martin, Mary Alice Martin, and Naomi Martin Diffenbach; a sister-in-law, Ruth Martin.
The family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated staff at Mt. Hope for their tender care for Rhoda. The loving interactions are remembered with highest regard.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Rhoda’s Life Celebration Service at Landisville Mennonite Church, 3320 Bowman Road, Landisville on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM with a family visitation following. There will also be informal visitation with the family at the church on Saturday, March 9 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rhoda’s memory may be made to Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, 3026 Mt. Hope Home Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
