Nevin R. Buzzer Miller, 84, of 340 School Road Denver (Bowmansville), PA; died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Berks Heim Reading.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Nevin E. and Myrtle R. Nafe Miller.
In 1983 Buzzer retired from the Gulf Oil Corporation where he served as the manager of the service station located at the Bowmansville Plaza on the Pennsylvania Turnpike for thirty years. Following retirement he worked part time at the Hawk Valley Golf Course in Bowmansville. Buzzer served as chairman and treasurer of the Brecknock Township Sewer Authority for many years. A veteran of World War II Buzzer served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Mauna Loa. He was the loving husband of Bella Parzanese Miller and they observed their 60th wedding anniversary in January of this year. He was a former member of Hope Lutheran Church in Reading and a life member of the Adamstown V.F.W. Post 8795. Buzzer had an extensive collection of Gulf Oil Corporation memorabilia. His interests include: golfing and fishing.
Buzzer had an engaging personality; he loved people and entertaining with friends and family at his home with many parties. His passion in life was his family, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Susan Ann wife of William E. Beck and Sally Ann wife of Douglas L. Meints all of Terre Hill, two granddaughters: Jill Suzanne Beck and Kelly Ann Meints, a great grandson, Jayden, Miller, and a brother, Leonard C. husband of Marjorie Miller of Wyomissing. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Meints and a brother Richard Miller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service from the Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church 1327 Alleghenyville Road Mohnton, PA on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 11:30 AM with the Reverend George W. Grubb officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday morning at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
