Mary Elizabeth Petticoffer

Mary Elizabeth Petticoffer, 81, of Manheim, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Elam and Lizzie Dinger Gerhart. She was the wife of the late Harold E. Petticoffer who died in 1996. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church, Lebanon and she was a former member of Grace Fellowship Church, Ephrata. She volunteered at the Ephrata Community Hospital for many years. A woman of strong faith in Jesus Christ and the Bible, she loved being a wife and mother and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three children, Scott husband of Jennifer Petticoffer of Longview, Texas, Todd husband of Melanie Petticoffer of Manheim, Lisa wife of Randall Bomberger of Glen Burnie, Maryland; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a sister, Lorraine Cassel of Manheim. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Monroe and Jacob Gerhart and two sisters, Mae Weisert and Annabelle Brenner.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at First Baptist Church, 20 Linden Road, Lebanon on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:30 AM. There will be a public viewing at the church on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and again at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment in Mellinger’s Union Cemetery, Schoeneck. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Mary’s memory to United Zion Retirement Community, 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
