Marian G. Minnich, 89, formerly of Green Acre Road, Lititz, died on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Elmer B. and Lottie Graybill Hess. Marian was the loving wife of the late Earl F. Minnich who died in October 2004. From 1952 to 1988, she and her husband owned and operated Minnich's Farm Bakery, Lititz. She was a member of the White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim. Marian was also an auxiliary member of Gideon's International, Lancaster North Camp. She served as a volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels in the Lititz area. Marian's interests included: Knitting, gardening, baking, and traveling. She had a passion for hospitality to her friends, family, and visitors, and served wonderful meals in her home. In her later years, she spent time knotting baby comforters for orphanages; and made cookies to bless family, friends, and various charities. Surviving are three daughters: Bernice H. wife of Glenn E. Wagner, Martha H. wife of Stephen A. Martin all of Lititz, Mary H. wife of Leonard E. Cater of Stevens; five sons: James H. husband of Lois Ann Strite Minnich of Turner, Maine, David H. Minnich, Caleb H. husband of Susan Rolfe Minnich, John H. husband of Lois Diffenderfer Minnich, and Hiram H. husband of Lori Ann Martin Minnich all of Lititz; 24 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren; a brother, J. Wilbur husband of Barbara Graybill Hess of Manheim; three sisters: Arlene G. Hershey, Dorothy G. wife of Lester Stauffer, and Bernice G. wife of Paul E. Groff all of Manheim. Preceding her in death were a daughter-in-law Rachel Wagner Minnich and two granddaughters Rachel Ann and Lynette Joy Martin. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the White Oak Church of the Brethren 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:30 AM with ministers: J. Marvin Shenk, Samuel M. Cassel, and Carl R. Groff officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing time on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
