Lynton H. Dieter

Lynton H. Dieter, 88, formerly of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Conestoga View, Lancaster. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Lynton R. and Carrie (Hainley) Dieter. He was the loving husband of the late Grace (Seifrit) Dieter, who died in 2007.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. Prior to his retirement, he worked at the Continental Press, Elizabethtown. An avid small game hunter, Lynton enjoyed painting, drawing, watching baseball, especially the NY Yankees, and watching Washington Redskin football games. He was in the Marine Corps in his early years. Later in life he became involved with the Young Marines, a national organization affiliated with the Marine Corps.
Surviving are two sons, Michael J., husband of Donna Dieter of Manheim, Carl R., husband of Joanne Dieter of Myerstown, and good friends, Mike & Lori Gerhards of Elizabethtown. He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jean Hafer, of Oley. He was predeceased by 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Ruhl’s United Methodist Cemetery, Rapho Twp.
