Lloyd E. Bleacher

January 28, 1922 — March 24, 2010

Lloyd E. Bleacher, 88, formerly of Lancaster County, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his home 410 Magnolia Drive Canton, GA.

Born in Millersville, he was the son of the late Roy and Ida Ault Bleacher. In 1985, Lloyd retired from Amtrack where he worked as a Locomotive Engineer for over forty-four years. Following retirement he was employed part time for the Manheim Auto Auction for thirteen years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Lloyd was the loving husband of Virginia E. Kromer Bleacher and they observed their 30th wedding anniversary in December of 2009. His first wife was the late Margaret Baker Bleacher. He was a member of Faith Pointe Church in Woodstock Ga., and formerly a member of Lifespring Fellowship Church of Lititz. An avid bowler, he participated in bowling leagues with his wife at Dutch Lanes in Ephrata and the Manheim Bowling Leagues. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Family was important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Brenda wife of Dana Williams of Brownstown, Patti wife of Harvey Fry of Mifflin, a step daughter, Karen wife of Garry Fegely of Canton, GA., four step sons: Wynn husband of Debra Krasley of Sanford N.C., Robert husband of Barbara Krasley of Scranton, Douglas husband of Deborah Krasley of Ephrata, Donald husband of Tammy Krasley of Manheim, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, a brother, David husband of Rose Bleacher of Lancaster and a daughter-in-law Kathi Bleacher of Watertown, CT. Preceding him in death is a son, Gordon Bleacher and a brother, Roy Bleacher.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service from Lifespring Fellowship Church 490 West Lincoln Avenue, Lititz, on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Dennis Loose officiating. Interment is in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
