Joan Witman

Joan Witman, 82, of Manheim, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late, Thomas N. and Margaret Ecenrode Connelly. A homemaker,she was the loving wife of the late E. Richard “Dick” Witman who died in February of 2015. Joan provided child care in her home for many Manheim families throughout the years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and visiting Rehoboth Beach and Indian River. Joan was an avid reader and was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Surviving is a son, Michael S. Witman of Manheim, a daughter, Susan M. wife of Ray A. Ditzler of Easton, three grandchildren: Amanda Linder, Mindy S. Ditzler, Tyler Witman, four great grandchildren, and a brother, Warren R. husband of Susan Connelly of Manheim.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Ruhl’s United Methodist Cemetery.
