Jay Lloyd Bomberger

November 1, 1924 — December 11, 2017

Jay Lloyd Bomberger, 93, of Lititz, died peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Brethren Village. Born in Warwick Township, he was the son of the late Abram Z. and Iva B. Martin Bomberger. Jay Lloyd was the loving husband of Elva F. Bollinger Bomberger and they observed their 70th wedding anniversary in October of this year. He was a 1942 graduate of the former Rothsville High School where he played on the varsity basketball team. Farming throughout his life, Jay Lloyd was the owner and operator of his own farm in Warwick Township. He also had a milk transportation business for many years working with farms in the New Holland area. Jay Lloyd was an active and faithful member of the Lititz Church of the Brethren, a member of the Rose of Sharon Sunday school class, and was active on the church softball team and served as a pitcher in his early years. He loved all types of sports and watched with enthusiasm the Philadelphia sports teams and was a faithful weekly golfer with his friends. Through the years, he enjoyed playing cards, many games of scrabble with his grandkids, and cheering them on at all their sporting events. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling and went to Florida every winter to visit friends. Jay Lloyd will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Surviving in addition to his wife Elva, are two sons: Tim husband of Linda Bomberger, David husband of Cathy Bomberger all of Lititz, seven grandchildren: Brock, Brie, Blair, Kelly, Jennifer, Ashley, Courtney, fifteen great grandchildren, and a brother, H. Richard Bomberger of Lititz. Preceding him in death is a daughter, Beth Bomberger, a great grandson, Luke Stoltzfus, and a sister Mildred Kendig.
