James F. Cox

James F. "Jim" Cox, 79, of Lititz, died peacefully following a brief illness on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Luther Acres Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Kirkwood, he was the son of the late Frank and Marie Dubbs Cox. Jim retired as a supervisor for the Keystone Pretzel Bakery Lititz; following retirement he stayed active working at public auctions and helping at a local catering company. He was the loving husband of Ardyth L. "Ardie" Kramer Cox and they observed their 30th wedding anniversary in August of last year. Jim served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Manor VFW Post 7294, Millersville, New Holland American Legion Conestoga Post 662, and the Ephrata Elks Lodge 1933. He had a lifelong passion for his family and he enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Jim will be lovingly missed by three sons: Eric A. Lane of Lancaster, Niles C. Jr. husband of Cathy A. Lane of Quarryville, James F. Cox Jr., four daughters: Lisa A. Yost of Lancaster, Jennifer L. wife of Michael Doran of Landisville, Susan Cox, Sharon Cox, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brothers: Stanford husband of Grace Cox of Lancaster, Clarence Cox of Elizabethtown, and a sister, Grace Ziegler of Myerstown. Preceding him in death are three sisters: Marie Yuninger, Evelyn Myer, Winona Kinzer and a brother, Frank Cox. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor R. Eugene Hill officiating. The family requests that everyone dress casual for the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be sent in Jim's memory to the Tyler M. Spickler Fund C/O Fulton Bank, Mountville Branch, 305 Highland Drive, Mountville, PA 17554.
