Irvin S. Ulrich

Irvin S. Ulrich, 96, of Ephrata, and formerly of New Holland, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz. Born in Penn Township, he was the son of the late John H. Sr. and Ellen Strickler Ulrich. Irvin was a self-employed painter, and had worked for a local painters union. He was a residential and industrial painter; helping to paint the Park City Mall, and the Greist Building in Lancaster. Irvin proudly served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. He was a life member of the Adamstown VFW, and the 17th Airborne Division. His hobbies included fishing, reading, and professional wrestling. Irvin’s grandchildren were always able to make him smile.

Surviving is a daughter, JoAnn S. Ulrich Hoffman of Ephrata, granddaughter, Amy Hoffman Witmer, married to Josh Witmer and their two children: Mollie Elise Witmer, Rowan Joshua Witmer, grandson Kyle Hoffman and his two children Sophia Helen Alexandra Hoffman, Kailyn Maree Isabella Hoffman, and two sisters: Miriam Miller of Lancaster, and Elva wife of Harold Shaak of Middletown. He was preceded in death by his wife Treva Elizabeth Neff Ulrich, four brothers and two sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a time of visitation with the family at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 9:30 AM till 10:30 AM. Immediately following visitation on Friday morning everyone will be invited to travel in procession to Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, for interment services with military honors at 11:30 AM.
