Georgell C. Kirby Sr.

Georgell C. Kirby, Sr., 74, of Mount Joy, died peacefully, Wednesday December 16, 2015 at Phoebe Richland Heath Care Center, Richlandtown, PA. He was the husband of Judy (Collins) Kirby of Mount Joy and husband of the late Betty Jane (Graham) Kirby. Born in Grayson County, VA, he was the son of the late Thomas L. and Willie (Porter) Kirby. Georgell had been a plant supervisor for Agway Corp. of Manheim, and later worked of Wenger Feed Mill of Mount Joy. He was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, Independence, VA. Georgell enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son Georgell Jr. husband of Deborah Kirby, Lititz; five step-sons Earl Eugene husband of Carol Henry, Lancaster, Harold Paul husband of Roxanne Henry of Mount Joy, Barry husband of Esther Coe, Quarryville, John H. Jr. husband of Linda Coe, Manheim, Steven Coe, Lititz; a daughter Linda Lee Loper, Florida; five step-daughters Connie Jean Hughes, Lancaster, Dixie Lee wife of John C. Winters, Manheim, Tina wife of Melvin Horst, Lititz, Wanda Sheaffer, Mount Joy, Sherri Coe, Lititz; one grand-daughter; twenty-seven step- grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a sister Odessa Hawkins, Independence VA. In addition to his first wife he was preceded in death by a brother Elmer E. Kirby; a sister Oleta Brewer; and two step-daughters Patricia Strohm and Susan Henry.

Services and interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery will be private.
