George F. Broske

George F. Broske, 97, of Mount Joy, died Saturday May 22, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy after a brief illness.

Born in Enhaut, PA, he was the son of the late Rev. G.F. and Clara (Bachman) Broske. He was the husband of the late Ethel (Moore) Broske who died in December of 2009. He was a graduate of Enola High School, class of 1931, Millersville University, class of 1935, received his Masters in Education from Temple University in 1955, and received a Doctoral Equivalent from Temple University. George was first employed with the Donegal School District from 1954-1955, then at the Office of Admissions at Franklin Marshall College from 1955-1958, and was a high school counselor for Hempfield School District before retiring in 1977. George honorably served with U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Mount Joy Church of God. He was the first president of Hempfield Education Association, and was a past president of Lancaster County Counselors Association.

Surviving is a son George F. II, husband of Jan (Gardner) Broske, and a sister Selma Kendig of Columbia.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at the Mount Joy Church of God, 30 E. Main St. Mount Joy, PA on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Bob Malick officiating. There will be a time of visitation with family following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Viewing and interment in Mount Joy Cemetery were private.
