Esther M. Heisey

Esther M. Heisey Esther M. Heisey, 89, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, and formerly of Mount Joy, died Saturday May 26, 2012. She was the widow of the late Elmer Oliver and the late Norman M. Heisey. Born in Little Britain Twp., she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Edith (Jenkins) Altland. Esther had worked for various companies including AMP and RCA. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Mount Joy, where she was a former custodian with her husband and they were both honored for their dedication and longevity at this position. She was also a member of the Mount Joy Historical Society. Esther loved "her Phillies", and enjoyed watching ice hockey. Surviving are three daughters, Joan wife of John Henry Burkhart of Mount Joy, Nancy wife of Ray Broz of Chula Vista, CA, Norma wife of Chris Presler of Lancaster; a step-daughter Jeanne Solt of Lititz; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister Doris Trimble of Lancaster. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four sisters. The family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant View Retirement Community for their loving care of Esther during her time there.
