Emily F. Wilcox

Emily F. Wilcox, 88, of Landis Homes, Lititz, formerly of Lancaster, died peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Ithaca, N.Y. she was the daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Fabianczyk Slovik. Emily was the loving wife of the late J. P. “Pip” Wilcox who died in 2002. Emily and her husband owned and operated the former Lancaster Toy Company from 1968 to 1987. She was an active and faithful member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lancaster. An avid golfer, Emily was a former member of Conestoga Country Club, Lancaster. Her interests included flower and vegetable gardening, and doll collecting.

Surviving is a daughter, Emily Lynne Wilcox wife of Trevor Laws of Berkley, CA., a son, Larry J. husband of Mary Jane Boone Wilcox of Lancaster, two grandchildren: Jeffrey and Anne Wilcox, and three sisters: Anna wife of Stanley Palmer, Rose Wilkinson all of Ithaca, and Mary Saenz of Rockville, MD. Preceding her in death are two brothers and six sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Road, Lancaster, on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 3:30 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:30 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Neffsville.
