Dwight E. Hershey

Dwight E. Hershey, 44, of Manheim, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Vincent D. and Mary Brackbill Hershey. Dwight was the husband of Jeannie Ginder Hershey and they would have observed their 23rd wedding anniversary in November of this year. Dwight worked in Agri-business his whole life; most recently as a tractor trailer feed truck driver for Esbenshade Mills, Mount Joy. Previously he was the owner and operator of his own farm in Rapho Township. Dwight was a member of Chiques Church of the Brethren, Manheim. His interests included a deep love of history that captivated him through reading and watching the history channel, golfing, doing yard work, and making anything grow. Dwight had a life-long passion for his family and loved to attend his children’s sporting events.

Surviving in addition to his wife Jeannie, are four sons: Bobby, Jonathan, Joshua, Jared, and a daughter Jennifer Hershey all at home, three brothers: David husband of Debbie Hershey of Lancaster, Don husband of Mariah Hershey of Manheim, Dan husband of Donna Hershey of Paradise, and a sister-in-law, Terry Hershey of Paradise. Preceding him in death is a brother, Dale Hershey.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dwight’s funeral service at the Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 4:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM till 3:30 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
